Community Relations » The Nation and Health

In 1996 The Nation launched a media campaign on health that was to transform the way Barbadians looked after themselves. The programme, The Healthy Lifestyle Project became so popular in the country that companies began using the catch phrase “healthy lifestyle” in their promotions. The major manifestations of the Healthy Lifestyle Project are the Healthy Lifestyle Extravaganza, the Healthy Lifestyle Movement Festival and the Healthy Lifestyle Primary School Fitness Club. In support of its health campaign The Nation also publishes a monthly glossy magazine, Better Health Magazine, which is chock-full of a wide variety of health tips, information and medical advice on various health topics.

The Nation enjoys a healthy relationship with the major health NGOs in Barbados giving visibility and support to their projects. Some of the Nation partners are: The Heart Foundation of Barbados, the Barbados Cancer Society and the Diabetes Association of Barbados.
