Community Relations » The Nation and the Environment

In 2000 The Nation undertook to create an awareness of environmental issues such as was done for health. The Greening Barbados campaign was born and has propelled the paper’s involvement in a number of nation-wide programmes.

Thus far there have been, two major Green Expos, two nation-wide clean-ups, the publication of a weekly Green Page in the newspaper, a Green Line for Barbadians to call in their environmental problems, a garbage-can drive and an ongoing radio and newspaper promotional campaigns of anti-littering messages.

The project is coordinated in conjunction with a number of non-governmental, governmental organisations, and the private sector.
