The Nation takes a keen interest in the promotion of our local cultural heritage. In 2001, it partnered with the Collectors’ Club to honour some of Barbados’ greatest artists for their outstanding contribution to art on the island. The first awardee was Gordon Parkinson, who passed away in 2004. The other awardees were Fielding Babb, Joyce Daniel, Norma Talma and Alison Chapman-Andrews. The next award will be presented in October 2007.
