Mrs. Lesley Gweneth Ann Walcott has published various articles and monographs for the legal fraternity and is currently writing a scholarly text entitled “Insurance Law in the Commonwealth Caribbean.”
Additionally, she is currently preparing literature on law in the Caribbean.
She was appointed Vice Chair of the Securities Commission of Barbados in 2003, Chairman of the National Insurance Scheme’s Benefits Tribunal from 1998 until 2000 and a member of the Sanitation Service Authority- Cemetery Committee. She has also served on the board of the Barbados Central Securities Depository Inc and was appointed by Parliament to serve on the Law Reform Committee to advise Government on law reform in Barbados.
Mrs. Walcott has also served as Barbados’ representative on a select committee on women’s affairs to the Organization of American States (OAS). She has also conducted invaluable research, having prepared and submitted reports on income tax and trade in the Caribbean. |
